Lead Paragraph/Summary

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), or drones, can be strategically used to increase the availability and access to lifesaving health commodities and fill significant service gaps in public health supply chains. Through a comprehensive UAV integration activity first piloted in Malawi, the USAID Global Health Supply Chain Program-Procurement and Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) project is using drone technology to increase service delivery of life-saving health commodities and laboratory samples and results to and from hard-to-reach areas.
