Manual: Winning the Logistics Game

This new warehousing excellence guide builds on the foundations of the Center of Excellence (COE) process improvement approach piloted at the Ethiopian Pharmaceutical Supply Agency. Through this guide, GHSC-PSM experts share best practices and lessons learned to help public health logisticians to apply COE principles and operationalize its tenets. It introduces key concepts like inventory turnover; using throughput to gauge the ability to coordinate activities; and receiving best practices. With these concepts in place, the guide provides tools and approaches for achieving excellence—by using the plan-do-check-act cycle (PDCA) and a daily planner tool to eliminate as much work in progress as possible.
