Community‐based distribution (CBD) helps significantly increase access to and uptake of a variety of health commodities and services, particularly by underserved groups. CBD programs play a significant role in bringing health information, services, and commodities to clients who otherwise might not have reliable access to them. Effective supply chain management (SCM) plays an essential role in the success of CBD programs. This guide presents four SCM models for CBD programs that can be adapted and applied to a variety of country contexts, and also shares lessons learned on current SCM practices from a range of CBD programs worldwide. This guide aims to assist program managers and other stakeholders in designing and implementing stronger and more sustainable supply chains for their CBD programs.
